    [UNOFFICIAL] GM's Guide to Resolving Misconduct Empty [UNOFFICIAL] GM's Guide to Resolving Misconduct

    Post  i1337 Fri Jan 08, 2010 11:16 am

    Welcome to the Unofficial GM's Guide to Resolving Misconduct. Basically, this guide will let you know what you should do to players who break the rules.

    This guide is currently VERY INCOMPLETE. Please help expand this by suggesting different punishments for different offenses. List:
    1. Rule broken
    and
    2. Punishment
    Please be practical and serious.

    Thanks in Advance!

    I have divided the offenses into several groups (feel free to suggest other groups) ("Ban" is Perma-Ban unless otherwise specified):

    I. Personal Attacks
    1. Insult - Warning -> Jail -> Jail ~~~
    2. Slander -
    3. Harassing Player - 1st Warning -> 2nd Warning -> Ban
    4. Harassing GM - Warning -> Ban
    5.

    II. Hacking
    1. Damage Hack - Instant Ban
    2. Speed Hack - [#]-hour Ban -> Perma-Ban
    3. Fly Hack - [#]-hour Ban -> Perma-Ban
    4. Fast Attack - Instant Ban
    5. DC Hack - When confirmed, instant Perma-Ban
    6. Dem - When confirmed, instant Perma-Ban

    III. Scamming
    1. Trade - Warning (and must return scammed items) -> Jail (and must pay for leech) -> Ban
    2. Leech - Warning (and must pay for leech) -> Jail (and must pay for leech) -> Ban
    3.

    IV. Other Misconducts
    1.

    Thanks Kaizu, but it's still useless ATM. I need people to suggest what to do to these offenses.

    Personal attacks should be given a warning, but only 1.

    Any sort of certain hacking should be instant ban that goes for speed and fly.

    And I really doubt people will scam...? Shocked

    When the boss spawner comes out, there could be S> Leech and B> Leech and Leech scams?

    well i just feel weird,
    as u know theres still the thing called'auto banned'
    but it does not banned ur acc
    u just get logged out and u come in again
    but those who hack who just keep logging out and in and out!
    so they practically wun feel like hacking/ playing this ms
    so i dun think theres a need for the banning of hackers

    As for leeching case, i just think warning 3x and banned would
    be enough
    And 1 more thing
    u could just add
    1. Insult - Warning -> Jail
    into no.3.4 like 1.insult/Harassing player - 1st Warning -> 2nd Warning -> Ban
    2.insult/Harassing GM - Warning -> Ban

    I know. Auto-ban D/Cs you and you can log back in right away, but it makes it so you can't hack efficiently.

    Oh ok. The thing about Insult though, it's like a person just randomly insults a player once. You get a warning for that. Harassing player is like annoying/constantly insulting another player. Insult is just one harsh throw at another player.

    Leech scams, i'd say Warning -> Jail -> Ban
